Full Explanation
Most 'free' QR code generators impose restrictions: QR Tiger's free plan is limited to 3 codes per month with watermarks ($7/month for more). Bitly allows 2 codes per month free ($8/month for more). The word 'free' is heavily qualified in the QR code generator market. UnlimitedQRCodes.com is an exception — the entire tool is free because all QR generation happens in the browser (no server costs per code), and the business model does not rely on converting free users to paid plans.
Related Questions
Will UnlimitedQRCodes.com always be free?
The tool is designed to remain free — it costs very little to run because all QR generation happens in users' browsers with no server-side processing per code. The founders built it to be genuinely free because most free tools in the market are not actually free.
What's the catch?
There is no catch. The QR codes work identically to paid tools for static codes. The only feature UnlimitedQRCodes.com does not offer is dynamic QR codes (editable destination after printing) with scan analytics — those require server infrastructure and are available on paid plans from QR Tiger, Bitly, etc.
